Enhancer

  • Type: Pulse Path (Specialist)
  • Requirements: Enabled, Repair d8+

Magic and science don't mix. There are some who believe this, and there are some who don't. And then there are the few who have proven it wrong. Enhancers are magicians of the modern age, who have learned to channel their power through mechanical devices. On taking this Edge your character gains:

  • Enhancing (Sma) d4
  • Two sigils from the following list:

Area Sigil

  • Rank: Veteran
  • Pulse: Special
  • Range: Area
  • Duration: Special

Enhancers may use this Sigil along with any sigil they know that has a duration longer than instant. When they activate the combined sigil, it affects everybody within a medium burst template centered on the sigil, but only as long as they remain in this area. The Enhancer may exclude one single target for each raise on his Enhancing roll. This use of area sigil costs double what the original sigil would cost. When the hero has reached Demigod rank, he may spend thrice the amount of Pulse to make it a large burst template instead.

Trigger Sigil

  • Rank: Novice
  • Pulse: 1
  • Range: Special
  • Duration: Special

Usually created by Enhancers to make traps of any kind. A trigger sigil is a sigil the Enhancer may leave on an object along with any single other sigil he knows. The Enhancer sets a condition for the sigil to trigger. The condition has to be an observable fact, which usually translates into movement, often limited to a creature of a certain size. The Enhancer pays the cost of the sigil at the time he sets it. A raise on the roll to set the trigger sigil results in a +2 on the roll to scribe the sigil that needs to be triggered. He will only regain his Pulse once the sigil has triggered though. The Enhancer may choose to drop the commitment to the sigil at any point, which causes it to go off right away.

Remote Sigil

  • Rank: Novice
  • Pulse: 1
  • Range: Special
  • Duration: Special

Enhancers who work with droids of any kind may use this sigil on their droids, along with any other single sigil he knows. When this is done, the Enhancer may activate this sigil through a remote action, delivered by his droid. The Enhancer does not regain the Pulse committed to the Remote Sigil until it is used, but he only pays the cost for the activated sigil at the moment of activation as with normal sigils. The Remote Sigil functions as a channel point for his Pulse. The activation range of the Remote Sigil is 10“ for every Pulse spent, or 15” per Pulse with a raise.

Extended Sigil

  • Rank: Heroic
  • Pulse: Special
  • Range: Special
  • Duration: Special

The enhancer may spend a minute with any sigil he knows with a duration of 1-10 rounds, and spend double the Pulse required. As a result, the duration of his sigil is increased to 15 minutes. The active sigil at all times counts as a maintained power. With a raise on the roll for this Power, the Enhancer does not suffer the normal -1 penalty for maintained Powers.
