Jade is an attractive young woman, but despite that she has never been really girly or anything like that. She likes to dress in practical clothing; jeans, jackets, shirts and the like. She usually sports her signature trucker cap during the day, but not when she is out for a social call. She is quite athletic but all in all quite small and slender; the average guy would easily be able to lift her off her feet if she wouldn't kick him senseless before he could try.

Her long red hair is one of the few things that remains feminine about her. Nobody truly knows why she insists on growing her hair. It's not like she has any role model with long hair and she is known to curse about it when it gets loose and hinders her in some way, like the wind blowing it in her face. Most think it is a way for her to keep reminding herself that she is still a girl in a family of men. Her hair is often in a practical knot or ponytail though.

Feisty is how most people would describe Jade, but that is a description only for people who know her on the outside. Jade is always pushing to prove herself in a family of men, and despite the fact that pretty much everybody knows and acknowledges her skill and strong personality she always keeps trying. People who know her better know a bit about her inner layers as well though. Jade is one of the most loyal friends one could hope for, and to be honest, it is not all that difficult to win her friendship. On the flipside it is not all that difficult to earn her ire as well though, cross her and you might not want to show your face in the bar for a couple of days… and she does not easily forget.

Jade is a regular in the bar and knows how to hold her liquor. Relatively speaking that is, because there is almost not a soul in town who doesn't know she is a happy drunk. She does know her limit as she has learned to hate hangovers and almost never drinks to the point where one is inevitable.

Jade has almost always been unapproachable for romantic escapades… by anybody but her boyfriend that is. Jade has never been available as she's been together with Thomas for as long as almost anybody can remember. Very few have tried, and those who have quickly gathered from her dead-pan expression to their escapades that they didn't really had a chance and had better start behaving normally again before they made a fool out of themselves.

Jade was born in a small trading family, the Claymores. Not that there was much trade to be done, but most of it was left to the Claymores. They often travelled to the neighbouring tribe where they were respected visitors. Her father had just inherited the company from his parents when Jade was born. When Jade's younger brother was born though her mother died during childbirth, Jade was only two years old when this happened. Unfortunately both her grandmothers also passed away when Jade was still young, and as a result she has lived in a family full of men for almost most of her life. Not that there weren't any female role models around in the tribe, but as they were not part of her family they never made a big impression on Jade.

Being the only girl in the family affected Jade's childhood in no small manner. Because she did not want to stand out in her own house being the only one to wear skirts or dresses, she often wore boys' clothing. She was fine with hand-me-downs of her older brother as well from time to time. While the female members of the tribe often criticized her father, there wasn't really much he could do about this; Jade was already quite stubborn as a child. As a result she had difficulties making female friends… and of course boys her age, while they would accept her from time to time, wouldn't really make friends with her eithers. Her brothers' friends sometimes accepted her hanging out with them as well if only because of her brothers' insistence (they did look out for their little sister). Amongst Brian's group of friends there was one guy who she truly bonded with as a close friend, Thomas.

By the time Jade hit puberty, as well as the guys in her age group, the guys started to realize the chance they had missed. There was very little doubt about it that Jade and Thomas would eventually end up together. Even if they did formally stay friends for quite a long period of time, Jade was utterly unapproachable as a dating option. As the preconceptions that kids have started to drop a little though more and more people started to befriend her as she did tend to have this vibe to her personality that attracts people. The former loner quickly grew into a leading figure amongst the young adolescents.
