Once upon a time there lived a princess in the rich and powerful country of Ruatha. She was the king's oldest daughter and sister to the crown prince. Like all other princesses she was being raised in her father's harem, where the women played their own games of power. It had pretty much been determined from her birth that she would be married to the crown prince of the neighbouring country Serinna who quickly became an important childhood friend to Rena.
Such is the story of Rena of Ruatha, which would have lead to a quite rich life were it not for the fact that the girl had a very free spirit and a strong will. Accompanied by several rather tomboyish qualities she was the terror of the harem, having her many mothers looking out for her on regular basis. Yet still she had an aura around her that made it difficult for people to truly dislike her.
Upon learning her fiancé had changed considerably since they were children and had grown up to be a self-absorbed prick (who was horrible in bed on top of it), Rena's sheltered life became far too confined for her wishes. Several days after their meeting Rena had disappeared from the palace, taking a considerable sum of money for her own survival.
What exactly happened afterwards is veiled in mystery. Her money got her all the way to Nexus, where she was safe from any pursuers from Ruatha for some time. But by the time she had gotten there she was dirt poor. Apparently a lot happened in the years following… things that made her into a very strong young woman working directly under an influential scavenger lord eventually, and Exalted as well.
