Background
Trained in the tiger style of Kung Fu (Hung Gar) and learned in finding and bringing peace to spirits, Lau Fing has till recently been working as a paranormal investigator/private eye. Using both a wide network of contacts, as well as the vast amount of information available on the net, to find out all he can about a case, so he can try and solve a case without violence. When violence seemed unavoidable, Lau Fing wanted to take care of it quick and resolute. Lau Fing has been raised in the tiger style of Kung Fu, and in his opinion it is the most fitting style for this approach.
The last case Lau Fing was working on as a normal mortal, was to find and bring peace to the spirits of the two children Li Li en Li Che. Unfortunately for Lau Fing, the case he was working on was just part of a far greater plan then just the spirits of two children. By the time Lau Fing found the two spirits, he had learned that Li Li and Li Che hadn't just left their haunting spot, a strange occurance by itself, but were abducted by a gang led by a mysterious figure. Lau Fing raided the gang's hiding place to free the two small spirits. Though most of the gang members were quickly dispatched by Lau Fing's hard attacks, the mysterious leader's martial arts seemed to be from a higher (or lower, depending on your point of view) level. The mysterious leader managed to soundly defeat the paranormal investigator, while his gang evacuated the hideout in a hurry in case police might show up later.
While being left behind for dead, Lau Fing was approached with a strange offer. Lau Fing was offered a second chance on solving the case of Li Li and Li Che. In exchange, Lau Fing would have to fight in and endless seeming battle to return the balance between the land of the living and the land of the dead. Even though he couldn't grasp the entirety of this offer, Lau Fing did understand that this would give him a better chance at saving the souls of the two children, then slowly dying in the gutter. Lau Fing accepted the offer and disappeared for a while. Now Lau Fing has returned as a Shinigami, trained in a martial art from before human history. His goal is to find the mysterious gang leader and save the souls of the two children. Unfortunately, the leads Lau Fing had before he disappeared were all useless now. There is nothing to it for Lau Fing to travel around, take up new cases and try and find new leads that might lead him to the mysterious gang leader and put him to justice.
Appearance
Lau Fing looks like a modest middleaged chinese man, wearing a plain black and white kung fu uniform. Hidden underneath his short cut hair and uniform is a large cobra tattoo with the snakes head on the top of his scalp, the tail flowing down over his neck and back to the base of his spine. On his richt shoulder is the black tattoo of a dragon's skull. It's typical to find Lau Fing with a small smile, as if he remembers a nice joke. When people ask about this, Lau Fing always answers: Sifu always said “Lau Fing, you treat everything like it laughing matter”. Wise sifu ofcourse correct, as every matter concerning Lau Fing is Lau Fing matter.
